A unique history and heritage
The Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) is mandated to protect and enhance the real estate assets it owns.
Few people know that the Société générale des industries culturelles (SOGIC), which became the SODEC in 1995, succeeded by decree the Ministry of Cultural Affairs as the owner of the real estate on March 15, 1989.
In 1996, the SODEC established the Place-Royale Commission to ensure citizen participation in the conservation and enhancement of the heritage. The Commission brings together nine representatives from groups present in Place-Royale and is chaired by Anne Vallières.
