From February 7 to 16, the magic of the Carnival takes over the city of Quebec, transforming the Petit Champlain District and Place-Royale into a true theater of discoveries and winter magic.

1. Savor Sortilège at the most magical outdoor bar in Quebec.

Le Parc Félix-Leclerc, cœur vibrant de la fête, vous invite à vivre l’expérience d’un bar extérieur exceptionnel. Savourez un Caribou chaud, un Sortilège ou un café réconfortant, tout en profitant de l’atmosphère conviviale avec l'équipe du Théâtre Petit Champlain. 

Le bar, légendaire pendant le Carnaval, offre une vue imprenable et une ambiance festive incomparable.

Ouvert les samedis et dimanches 8-9 et 15-16 février. 

 

 

 

2. Attend the "Sirop!" show by Flip Fabrique.

Un moment magique à ne pas manquer : le spectacle de rue « Sirop ! » de Flip Fabrique. Acrobates, jongleurs, violonistes et artistes de cirque vous émerveilleront lors de ce spectacle inspiré de la récolte du sirop d’érable.

Les représentations auront lieu les 8, 9, 15 et 16 février à 13h, 14h et 15h, au départ de la terrasse du Petit-Champlain. Un divertissement familial à couper le souffle. Gratuit.

 

 

 

3. Explore ice sculptures reimagined with EXMURO and their PROJET 0°

EXMURO presents a brand new ice sculpture exhibition: PROJECT 0°. About twenty backlit ice blocks, encasing photographs by local artists, await you at Place-Royale and Petit-Champlain. A true visual journey that blends art, ice, and light!

4. Stroll and enjoy a magical, Instagram-worthy walk.

Petit-Champlain and Place-Royale offer you a magical stroll under exceptional decorations. Explore the shops and restaurants, and be amazed by the Carnival lights, all handcrafted by artisans from Île d'Orléans.

5. Capture a photo under the hockey sticks of the Pee-Wee Tournament.

In honor of the 65th anniversary of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, Cul-de-Sac Street transforms into a true sky of suspended hockey sticks, offering a stunning view with Château Frontenac in the background.

A unique moment to experience at all costs!

 

 

 

6. Enjoy maple taffy at the Petit Cabane à Sucre in Quebec.

No trip to the Quebec Carnival is complete without tasting the famous maple taffy. Head to the little sugar shack in Petit-Champlain and indulge in this authentic treat, prepared right before your eyes.

7. Join the running sessions with Faux Mouvement during OFF Carnaval!

Meet in front of the Faux Mouvement store (70 Champlain Blvd) on the following dates: Sundays, February 9 and 16 at 9 AM, Tuesdays, February 11, and Thursdays, February 13 at 6 PM. Explore the historic streets of Quebec, from Old Quebec to Petit Champlain, running 9 km routes on Sundays and 7 km routes in the evening, all while discovering the city from a new perspective. Access and Transportation

Free shuttle buses will run daily between Place de Paris, Espace Quatre Cent, and Parc de la Francophonie, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM throughout the Carnival.

The Société de transport de la Capitale and the Société des traversiers du Québec recommend using public transportation to access the various Carnival activities.

The holiday season is arriving in full swing in our neighborhood and in Place-Royale. From the illuminated giant tree to the magic of the circus, not to mention choirs and the Santa Claus race, our Old Québec area offers a festive program that will delight both young and old.

Magical and Fun Animations

  1. A Magical Christmas Décor

Starting in mid-November, Place-Royale will shine with its majestic tree, a symbol of the holiday magic. All the boutiques and restaurants will have a Christmas tree and vibrant decorations.

 

2. Xmas Choirs

Every weekend in December, local choirs such as Chœur Ad Vitam and Gamik Vocale will bring holiday cheer to the streets with carols. A warm, musical atmosphere that will continue on December 24th, 25th, and 31st.

3. Circus

The Flip Fabrique circus troupe will also make its highly anticipated return with a show full of surprises. The acrobats and jugglers of Brrrr! will perform their spectacular acts under the theme “The Grinch Who Wanted to Steal Christmas.” Performances will take place on December 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 28th, and 29th.

4. A Santa Claus Race for a Good Cause

On December 15th, don’t miss the Santa Claus Race, where over 350 participants dressed in festive costumes will race through the streets of the neighborhood. This friendly event supports the Petits bonheurs d’école Foundation. A Lutin race, dedicated to children, will add even more magic to the day.
